Maryam has graduated from Sohar University in 2018 and holds a bachelor’s degree in the field of the Commercial Law. She is currently enrolled for completing her master’s degree in the field of private Law at Dhofar University.
Prior to joining A&CO Maryam has worked at a prominent local law firm for more than three years wherein she has been responsible of the litigation department. Having qualified in the Omani jurisdiction, Maryam is admitted before the Omani courts and has right of audience before the primary court. She has gained exceptional practical experience in dealing with various litigious matters related to commercial, criminal, labor, civil and administrative legal proceedings. Maryam also has strong communication skills and an ability to provide outstanding pleadings before the judiciary.
During those years Maryam has become very accustomed to the Omani court procedures. She prepares statements of claim as well as memorandums and she regularly advises clients particularly in relation to employment disputes and unfair dismissal cases where she represents both employees and employers before the Ministry of Manpower prior to initiating court proceedings. Maryam also drafts criminal complaints and is familiar with the procedures of the Royal Oman Police and Public Prosecution.
Maryam is now responsible for A&CO’s litigation department where she handles all litigation cases from initial client meetings to representing them in court hearings and following up with the judgments thereafter in the Enforcement Department within the Omani courts.
